My K10D is sick

So every once in a while, since my K10D was new, it would take an all green picture. I would turn it off and turn it on and everything would be ok. Now it seems to happen every other time I turn on the camera, and takes about 10 times to make it stop doing it. Pictures of the problem may be found here: Flickr: posingpossum's Photostream (images IMGP2050 and 2068..(most of them look like 2050, 2058 was the first time it came out with an image.

I guess I am going to have to send it in. I think it should be covered by warranty, but I have to find my paperwork. What is the turn around time for repairs? Does anyone with experience have advise on handling this, like the dos and don'ts of handling pentax customer service? Sending one of the most expensive things I own off makes me pretty nervous.

Thanks for any help

Are they all from the same SD? If so, maybe u should try another SD first.

I have tried two different SD cards, has it been your experience that this might be a problem?

It could be the cards, although not all that likely.

If at all possible try another one.
Make sure that it's a real one as well, there are so many fakes out there.

I doubt it's the SD card. It seems like a software/firmware glitch somewhere. The only thing I can think of trying is to reload the firmware, that might take care of it. The reason I'm saying this is that the subway cars I work on can develop weird propulsion faults and they sometimes clear if we reload the propulsion firmware. I don't know if it would work but it's at least worth a try. Especially since you are planning on sending it in anyway.
