OK, so I was able to turn off the debugging with the PK_Tether however, the photos from this camera are very dark, even with the flash engaged its like the shutter is not synced with the flash or the light meter is not working properly. Could it be possible that the settings have been changed when the camera was in debugging mode? I have reset the camera several times but the photos still come out very dark unless I crank up the ISO to 1600. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Mark

The light meter is probably seeing ambient light through the clear prism housing and under-exposing the image significantly. You could test this hypothesis by covering the camera (all except for the lens) with a dark cloth and see if it gets a better picture.

Or if that does not work, try metering with another known-good camera and then setting the clear-camera with those settings in M-mode.

Good luck!

The practical reason for not producing a clear bodied camera is pretty obvious. The body is one giant light leak flooding the sensor with uncontrolled stray light from all directions. That is unless the internal light box portion of the camera is left opaque.
I have a clear Store Demo SF1 (but not the matching F35~70 kit lens). Of course loading film would never work.

Try using a hand-held meter. (Shades of the old days!)

I thought the clear ones would work with film, as long as you put a regular back on it?

It seems to me there would be too much opportunity for light leaks.

so, it seems the camera cannot take picture without covering the shell.

That is wicked cool. Definitely a rarity among rarities.

No surprise that it doesn't expose properly I suppose.

But do try manual mode. You could always try the "sunny 16 rule" to set the exposure.

What gets me there is so little in the battery grip - and they charge how much for those?

In the days of film, these cameras were made so that you could take pictures with them as they were or by replacing the clear back with a standard back. I suspect this one will be fun to use.
