Cool! That is a strong testament to the PRIME IV processing engine. Thanks!

You rang?

K-1 at 3200 on a ship between Tianjin and Fukuoka

KP at 3200 in Siena

They both do very well.
I do not have the K-1 on my wish list since I have almost all APS-C lenses. I am really impressed with the K-P picture. What lens did you use? I do not think my K-3 and K-5 could have gotten that much clarity at 3200 ISO even with my fastest lens which is an FA-50mm f1.7

DA15 limited at f/8.0. Click on the image to view the EXIF in Flickr. THIS ALBUM was entirely shot with the KP if you want more examples.

Next up for me is to put my DA 12 Limited on my K-5 and K-3 bodies and try indoor shots like that. Av mode at f8.0 and ISO 3200. My venue won't be Italy but New York City where there are plenty of cathedrals and museums where I can evaluate my gear. Looking at your pictures, and they are beautiful, I doubt either of my older bodies can get the indoor, high ISO pictures you did. I guess I better start saving up. The train station in NYC that we arrive in is only about 1 city block from B&H and Adorama is also an easy walk. Looks like I may return home with a KP

That K1 shot is wonderful!!!

The older K3 and KS2 do very well in low light too. Not quite as good at the newer cameras but pretty well actually. I can't wait to see what the K3II replacement is.

What I would really like is a K-3 II with the low noise/IQ of the K-1 but perhaps that's just wishful thinking.
Yep !
That's pretty much what one would expect for the next reiteration of the K3.
I use the K3 a lot with the DA300/4 for birding (and seldom with the TC) and often find myself shooting in less than ideal light conditions.
"Noise IQ" à la K1 would be nice indeed.

Oops, Typo Alert! I meant DA 15 Limited, SMC version. I do agree a DA 12 Limited would definitely be a must have. Pentax/Ricoh, are you reading these posts?
