altering the 50-135

i read the article about altering the 60-250 since mine works great since i had it altered over a year ago it made me wonder if the 50-135 could be altered i the same manner. has anyone done it or looked into it at all. this is such a great lens I'd love to see how it would work on the full size of the K1 sensor.

The DA* 60-250 started as a full frame design. The DA* 50-135 is not even close from what I have seen of the images from it on the K-1. The DA* 60-250 had a restrictive baffle in it - there is no such thing in the DA* 50-135. I do not think there is any magic bullet here.

The 50-135 does not even come close to covering the FF image sensor, You can see that in the K-1 viewfinder. Also the 50-135 does not use a baffle like the 60-250 uses. The 50-135 is strictly an ASP-C lens.

Agreed and no need for a grip either, it balances extremely well. I've tried to sell mine but just can not part with it. Excellent shots too.

Just put it on the K-1 and switch it to crop mode. That is a very good feature of the K-1. Your pixel density in the crop area will still be impressively good for resolution. And you'd have essentially a similar capability and view of a much heavier, much larger, more expensive 70-200mm f/2.8 with the FF mode.

well it was a nice thought anyway and the 50-135 is such an exceptional lens that there was some wishful thinking on my part. i have shot everything from nature to sports action with it on the K5 and the K3 and have never been disappointed. and i have used it on the K1 in crop made with excellent results.
