Everyone talks of actuations/shutter counts. Where do I find this on the K10.

I don't think it has a feature for that (anybody correct me if I'm wrong), but the way I would judge it would be to look at the numbering on the latest photo file, e.g. IMGP****.PEF or similar. Remember that if you've taken more than 9999 pictures it resets to 0 - but I would guess that you'd know if you'd done 10,000 or 20,000.
Obviously that number doesn't take into account the shutter actuations for digital preview, sensor cleaning, etc., but I expect that wouldn't be a significant amount anyway.

Open the last picture you took with PhotoME and look in the Manufacturer Notes for a field called "Shutter Count" that will give you the proper count.
You really can't go by file number, as that could have been reset multiple times

When I down loaded the photome it says manufacturer NIKON. Should it say PENTAX or is it tlking about who made the photome

That's the example set by the developer of the software. Once the program is open, open one of your picture files.
