Many airlines allow one "carry-on" plus a "personal item." The personal item can be a purse, small laptop bag, or something of that size and MUST fit under the seat. When I travel with a camera, I put my camera+lens in small camera-shaped bag and a selection of lenses in a fannypack/waistbelt-bag. I feed the waist bag's belt through the camera bag's belt loops and wear that on the plane (around my waist or slung over my shoulder) as my "personal item." I've never had anyone give it a second glance and the combination is large enough to carry a K-1 plus 4 to 7 lenses depending on which lenses and which waist bag I use.

Check with your airline about the rules on sizes and weights of both items because you may be able to bring more than you think.

And have a great time!
once I again, I will post this link

Carry-On Size Chart: 150+ Airlines - Travel Made Simple

" Carry-On Size Chart: 150+ Airlines

There is no one standard carry on luggage size or international carry on size. Each airline comes up with their own restrictions on size, weight, and number of items allowed in the cabin. In order to help you figure out the right dimensions for your carry-on bag, we’ve compiled the carry-on restrictions and limitations for more than 150 airlines right here in the only carry-on size chart you’ll ever need. My first trip to London and my first trip to Paris was with my k100d super and the kit 18-55 and 50-200. A few shots were with the 50-200 (gargoyles on Notre Dame) but most were with the 18-55.

>>>>You are going to Seville. You only have carry on luggage,
If you are referring to air-line carry on luggage. Bags with wheel tend to be heavier, so check the weight of the bag first.

My carry-on bag itself was 2.5kg and airline limit was 7kg. I did not know that my bag was 2.5kg. I used to hit the limit all the time. Now I carry gym bag and it is 700gms.
Once I had to throw the Allen key because it was one of the barred item. I remove batteries from the camera and put a tape around the output points. I travel international frequently, something like once a year.

I've never had them weigh carry on, my luggage yes. My carry on never. I may be misrecalling the weight it may have only been 30ish lbs.

My own formula: K-5IIs, 15/4 Ltd, 70 Ltd. Has worked for me for years.

For me, I'd take my K-3, DA 18-135, 100 macro and 1.4 and 1.7 TCs.

Well that is certainly travelling light and based solely on what I currently have, I would probably take my most compact set of primes:
* Pentax K-01
* DA 40 f2.8 XS
* DA 70 f2.4 Ltd
* DA 15 f4 Ltd
* Spare battery

If I wanted to go lighter still I would just take the K-01 + DA 40 (have done this before on over-nighters and found the DA40 quite capable for general use).
I completely agree with this 3 lens set up. The location would dictate lens choices. To capture Seville and it's architecture, streets and 3 UNESCO World Heritage Sites (Alcazar Palace, The Cathedral, General Archive of the Indies) you really need a wide angle lens. If I was travelling with only 2 lenses I would choose; K-5II, HD DA 15, HD DA 40. If I had to skinny it down further for a one lens configuration the HD DA 21 would cover the bases with only modest compromise.

K1 and Tamron 24-135, full spectrum K-01 + DA18-135 with 720nm IR filter on it. Wait, I've done this on a super light packing trip...

Earlier they were not. I guess at around 2012 Emirates started weighting carry-on also. I could not throw my camera and lens so paid 35$ penalty. This happened in JFK. 35$ is cheaper than shipping via FedEx or Ups :-)

A Q7 with an 02 and 06 (and extra batteries) is the ultimate in traveling light, although I would take two bodies.

When you go out with primes, you can't think of all the focal lengths you don't have. You have to just move yourself and work with what the lens does naturally" +1

K-30, Da 40mm XS "pancake" lens, compact and versatile, suitable for most situations. I am usuing a similar combination almost exclusively because I had to travel with similar restrictions, I have not missed having a zoom or other another lens, but better yet, I haven't missed a picture because a combo this light allows me to have my camera with me all the time.

Lens changes can be a pain when traveling with family. In the past I've gone with the K-30 + 18-250 for travels.

For a trip like yours, but with my gear I would probably go Q-S1 + 08 and Q + 02 with maybe the 03 fish-eye in the bag plus a mini tripod.

With your gear: K-30 + 18-55.

K-30, 18-55, 35 Lightweight, simple, macro, prime in a useful range. Done. Oh, and don't bother getting a haircut before you go - I hear they have a real good barber there.
