No New Pentax DSLR at PMA?

The announcement has been out, there are the DA* zooms, new DA primes, new 200FG compact flash and the old 645D as usual. But there is no new mainstream Pentax DSLR..

Is the previous rumours for two new P DSLR wrong then?

There are exactly two more weeks to go before PMA. All the "big gun" announcements have not been released yet (Canon 40D etc). These are just the preludes.

As these releases are so early, I am hopeful that more important announcement is forthcoming. If we get this two or three days before PMA, I would have said "that's it".

Anyways, we'll find out in 14 days time!

really though we didnt here about the K10D untill the 1st day of the show. I know I was there. Their lips are tighter than... well I will just leave it at that and not get introuble

OK, we just got the first "biggie" - the expected EOS 1D Mk III. But it looks like Canon is keeping the 40D announcement up its sleeve.

I guess they are busy enough trying to keep up filling the demands for the K10D.

Well the K10D is only 6 months old since announcement, and the K100D is only 10 months old. How many DSLR bodies do you want per year? AFAIK both bodies are selling very well. I'd be surprised if Pentax announced another DSLR body now. To be truthful, I'd be much happier if Pentax concentrated on allieviating their serious lens backlog.

NaCl(there are virtually no Pentax lenses available anywhere)H2O

me.. i just own a pentax camera and mostly third party lenses.. .. but some have bought into a pentax "dream"..

the "dream" is what this is about.. not much to do with new cameras..

Last year they announced the DL2, 2 weeks or so before PMA and then during the show, had the mock up of the 10mp DLSR, this year i think we'll see a mock-up of the K1D and maybe a couple of details.

March 8-11th, I'll be there. Pentax's official stand is no new DSLRs at the show, but honestly a replacement for the K100D would not shock me. But I'm guessing they're holding off on that till maybe 3Q this year. A K1D seems very unlikely. I'll let you know after the show, if I'm allowed!

I thought the new DSLR models are to come later in the year - something along the pipeline but not to be announced now...
