Which ones to sell and which ones to keep...

I recently purchased the K-70 and should probably start to consolidate stuff and spread the love. I have a K-200, Kx, K-30. I should probably keep one as a back up. They all have a special place in my heart, but I don't need all three.
I recently read some of the "miss the K-200" thread and it made me want to break it out and reintroduce myself to it cause it's been awhile. I and I always liked the images that thing took. The Kx probably isn't really worth much. So, is it worth the trouble to try and sell it? But It's small and easy to use and just chuck in a backpack, etc... The K-30 is the last camera I bought a few years back prior to the K-70. I do Like it, it's more recent and I might be able to still get a few bucks for it. But since it's more recent should I just make that my back up and part ways with the other two? I bring my inquiries to you the Pentax Jedi!

Which one to sell?

I would keep the K30, because if it ever goes wrong, it is easy to repair.

I don't like the K-x at all. Weak screwdrive-motor, useless live-view (K30 has focus-peaking).

K200D is a large beast with the best JPEG ooc of the CCD Sensor DLSR's. I prefer the IQ to the K-x.

The K200D won't bring much money but the K30 is much superior concerning Live-View, available light, can run the PLM lens with the non-officialfirmware update and just works very well.

Also both, K30 and K200D are WR!

K-x is liked by women or men with small hands because it is indeed amazing small, reminds me of the old *ist DS or *ist DS2 (which both are also not bad at all but no SR)

I think you've answered your own question:

Keep the K-30 because it's your second-best camera and that makes it the best option as a backup.

Keep the K-200 because it's worth more to you for sentimental reasons than to anyone else on the used market.

Keep the Kx because the hassles of selling it probably exceed the dollars you'll get for it.

I'm sure you'll find some use for these venerable machines. I've got an old K-10D with a broken aperture mechanism that I now use for mucking about with M42 lenses. And an even older Minolta Dimage A2 is now a dedicated sunrise snapshot taker (and occasional time-series taker). Or maybe you can scrounge up a cheap lens at a garage sale or thrift store and give one of the systems to a budding young photographer in your family or neighborhood.

I’m with pepperberry. Since getting the K3 and K1 I rarely see a reason to use my other cameras. I just sold my beloved ist DL, and am working on selling my K10 D and K5, both I bought new. They are better off in the hands of someone that will use them than sitting on a shelf collecting dust.

Spread the love. <3

Sell all but the one you're using. It doesn't matter if you don't get much, it matters that someone is getting their first DSLR and if you weren't using it, that's the best thing to do with your old equipment.

I certainly felt a bit sentimental parting with my MZ-6, but I wasn't going to load new film into it.

Don’t sell any of them! I’ve never sold a camera or lens even though I use the K-3II exclusively now. I have a functioning *istDS and K-5, and the MX+winder before that, plus hosts of prime and zoom lenses, and I cannot bear to think of parting with any of ‘em! Partly due to the collector in me (the collection goes back to the AP), I’m sure.

If I were you, I would sell them all, unless you are a pro and can use a backup camera, in which case, keep the K-30 .

The K200D isn't going for much. I have been trying to sell mine since january with no luck. Even at $100 in marketplace, it isn't selling.

K-30 would probably fetch a little under $200, but that is just a guess.

I am waiting for Fedex delivery of my K-1 II today. Will probably put my K-30 for sale too, unless the K-1 II is just too big to be my main camera. Will have to see.
Even then, I have a Panasonic GX85 for a small camera, so K-30 will probably be put for sale too.

If you can afford it go the Pepperberry route, if not, keep the K-30, sell the other two on the Marketplace or on ebay so you get market value, you won't get much, but someone that will actually use it can enjoy it then. Or, put a certain lens on each and use them for special purposes.

Keep one for a backup/loaner/giveaway, sell the others so somebody else can do the same. Cheap old lens plus cheap old body equals fun for a newcomer to photography. You'll get it back in karma.

Unless you really need a backup/loaner camera I'd sell all of em. None of them really offer anything that the k-70 doesn't give you more of.

I say wait for the K-3 II replacement then use your K-70 as backup to it plus as your compact alternative, and sell the rest.
