Can this be done?

As you all know the K20 has a bewildering number of possible settings that can be made to it. For me at least the menu system and sheer number of settings becomes confusing from day to day as to just how the camera is set up.

Question:
Is there a way to dump all these setting to the computer so you can see all these setting at once on the screen without going through the rather confusing menu system on the camera?

Before I go out for a day it would be nice to be able to determine, for sure, that my camera is set up the way I think it is.

Can't you use the remote assistant software to do that?

Russell,
Will Remote assistant work with the K100D super? I opened the browser and the function was grayed out( not active). I couldn't find any mention of it in the manual either.

For what it is worth, the menu's arent that confusing :P
The custom menu is just LONG, but everything makes sense. What they need is a tiny font so that menu items can be labelled fully. the current "abbreviation" mode they use adds to new user confusion.

Why not just download the manual and review that on your screen? It has sections on each of the menu screens and you can step through it.

Also, I believe the Magic Lantern guide for the K20D comes with a laminated menu "cheat sheet" that you can remove from the book and take with you. I have the book but have never really looked at the cheat sheet.

As opposed to the way you thought it was?

What I do with my K10D is have my favourites set up in "User"

that way even if I forget something, being in user is the way I want everything set

Pentax never made a supported Remote Assistant for the K1x0D, something I've bemoaned often. The istD and the K10D up are supported. R.A. usually works with my K100D firmware 1.00 but seldom works with my K110D firmware 1.02 but that may be a coincidence.

Photo Laboratory and Photo Browser do support K1x0D.
