K100d in digiscoping mode...

Hello, i have just acquired a K100D that I would like to use with my Pentax PF80ED scope. I have been trying the direct connect approach (DSLR attached with no lens to the scope with a K-Mount to 43mm step ring) but with very limited success ( Photos are not crisp since I can only focus with the scope and not from a lens!!!! ) I would rather use my camera with a lens like I use to do with a Point &shoot camera. I am afrais that the weight of the camera & lens when attached to the scope will damage the lens focussing capacity. Does someone in the group use a similar approah??? how do you do your setup of the camera???

Your help would be appreciated
