Have a look on eBay at edixa flex film cameras. You get a nice range of m42 lenses on the front and they are crazy cheap. The e Ludwig meretor is great fun as is the steinheil munchen cassar. Praktica often have east German Carl Zeiss and pentacons. You won't often find anything that isnt 50mm but it is more about having fun with the lens than whether or not it is another 50mm
Those Edixa Flex cameras look pretty neat. I'll have to look into them a bit more sometime!
And yeah, having fun is definitely the point for me. Which is why I like manual lenses, they're just so much more fun!

I wouldn't go with the K10D. It's night performance isn't much better than your phone. I'd try to find a K5 and up on a good deal.
Yep, I got a K-5! It's estimated to get her Monday.
Thanks for the input, though!

When you think about it, "used" isn't a very complementary way to describe something you are going to appreciate so much, "experienced" is a much nicer title

Yeah, "experienced" is a much nicer way to put it.
But it doesn't really matter too much, it's just a title.

difference is the cost

and lack of warranty

and trust

you pay your money and you take your chances

I have had nothing but good experiences from buying " experienced " lenses from members through the market place " buy & sell " above

many items were " like new " condition

another source I have used is keh.com

https://www.keh.com/

which is generally higher prices but does offer a warranty as well as a free return no questions asked for a limited time on some of its items

Yep.
I'll have to check out keh next time I'm looking for something camera related, see how they compare to other options.

Here's some photos I took with my new K-5!
The one that's really dark and underexposed is the first photo I took. it's of this gigantic caterpillar just outside my window.
The pictures are a little out of focus, but that's alright.
I used my Hoya 52mm diopter kit for the macro-ish shots.

Anywho, what do you guys think?

I think you have a brilliant camera and are going to have a lot of fun posting pictures here uses up your allowance but you can always make a contribution and get much more space and other benefits are you on flickr or Instagram? (I am peterkay42 on both) it will be good to watch your progress. If you have a quandary, do a search first then if you don't find the answer, ask the question. One or two get snotty if you ask something that has been asked before but 99.9% of the guys here are brilliant. Can you post something landscapey so we can see how the lens performs. Also, you can leave a review of the lens in the database. Good luck and congratulations

Yeah, I'm already having a tone of fun!
Does the allowance get reset every month or something?
I am on Instagram, but it's more of a personal account. I'll just try to upload photos on this forum or get a flickr account or something similar

Everyone has been more than helpful here, so I might as well ask questions.
I'll try to take a more landscapey shot.

Yeah, I'll add the lens to the database!

Thanks! Good luck to you as well!
