Do plane tickets count as photo "accessories"? Cause they really do help with your shooting...! And what about classes? Cause if I had $5k floating around, I'd rather travel, either on my own to, say, an eco-lodge in Costa-Rica, or to attend something like
Bugshot. A more appropriate question for me would be: if you had a $5k budget to improve your photography, how would you spend it? Then we'd see how many people are gear-centric...
But for the current (Pentax) gear wish-list. Let's see...
- K3ii or KP to replace my aging K-3 ( ~$870)
- Laowa 100mm 2X macro (pricing should be announced shortly, but let's budget $750)
- Laowa 15mm Macro ($500)
- DA 300mm ($1k?)
- SMC DA 15mm ($300 used)
That's only about $3.5k, right?
Maybes, if I
had to spend the whole thing on gear:
And a oh-what-the-heck:
- Pentax-A 50mm F/1.2 or a good used 55mm F/1.2, maybe a converted Canon FL 55mm F/1.2 from DCShooter.
But I think I'd rather spend only up to $3.5k on photo gear and then keep at least $1.5k for a trip to an eco-lodge in a place like Costa Rica so I have nice things to shoot with all that gear.
Actually, now that I think about it, if I knew I could spend on travel, I could make do with just a new body, a 16-85mm (to have a sealed walkaround for Costa Rica) and
maybe a DA 300mm if I need something long...
Wishful thinking:
- Bring on the K-3iii instead of K-3ii or KP!
