When have I been grumpy? I have my occasional moments like anyone else, but I'd like to think they're few and far between. Sometimes my moderating activities don't meet with everyone's approval, but that goes with the territory. Can't please everyone all of the time, right?

2. Wimberley WH200 - $600
3. K-1ii - $1896
4. $760 worth of gas to drive to cool spots for shooting with my new gear^^^

Sorry, fellas. The... er... cheque's in the mail?
Would that be chain mail or ring mail? Do we have to fight this knight to get to the cheque out?

Perhaps we should dub you the Chancellor of the Ex-Chequer.

Does anyone out there have one of the seven SMC-M 35mm f/1.4 prototypes they want to sell for $5000 US?

Barring that, I would first have all my Pentax gear that hadn't already been done get a full CLA by Eric. I'd say that eats up a couple grand.

Then the A 50/1.2, the FA prime trinity, and all the MX focusing screens I can find that I haven't already got. If there's anything left over, I'll take a working AF280T flash for my *istDS and a working clamp-on meter for my S1a.

With 5K € I would turn to the dark side and buy Fuji GFX 50R with Techart Pro EF to GFX adapter, convert my Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art to Canon mount and be materialistically happy with my new toys.

At the current exchange rate you'd only have 4.292,40€ to spend.

A new K-1 could be mine for 1.500€.
FA 31 1.367€
FA 43 800€
FA 77 925€

Aaaand I'd have to put 300€ on top to make it happen...

This is really a tale of three kits. They center around three cameras I currently own.

m42 kit - I have a Ricoh Singlex TLS that is about to go in for light meter repairs. Lets say I tell the guy the give me the most work he can on it for $100; fix the meter and a basic CLA. The camera was free from a friend. I was thinking of building a Kommunist Kit out of it (see what I did there?) with a three lens trio; Jupiter 9, probably $100 for a decent one. MIR-1, preferably a black on that still has Grand Prix Brussels on it, another $100? Finally a Zenitar 16 FE, maybe $200 in excellent condition. That's $500 for a kit that can do portraits, general walk-around, and fish eye wide stuff. Probably gets its own bag setup with a hammer and sickle and other silliness so $600 total.

k-mount film kit - I have a Ricoh XR7 in decent condition. It could use a little cosmetic work, new leather and paint touch-up, maybe $50 for supplies. I have pretty extensive kit already and only want a few lenses; a Pentax M-series 75-150, $100 for a good copy?. Pentax M-series 20mm f4, $350 from a kind soul? Finally the Samyang 135mm f2 sounds very nice at about $500. That's $1000 total.

k-mount digital - Right now, today, I cannot outshoot my K-5 II. It's not holding me back at all. I might go for the next top crop body but it isn't here yet and the KP and K-3 II don't turn me on enough. All I really want to add is an FA 31 at $900 and a DA 70. The 70 is funny, I think I want an SMC version, so $300 for a good copy?. Oh, and I could upgrade my DA 50 1.8 to an FA 50 1.4 for $350. That's a total of $1550.

I think I'd want to spend $500 on a good tripod and good monopod that I can get set up and using fast. SO, $600 + $1000 + $1550 + $500 = $3650

And here's a list of lenses I want to sell at some point;
Samyang 14
Tokina 24 RMC II
Albinar 28
Sigma 28 EX
DA 35 f2.4
DA 50 1.8
F 50 1.7
DA-L 50-200

I don't know if I answered the question right or not but I could use about $3000 to keep taking pictures of the same silly stuff that I already take pictures of.

Either way I have to add a couple of money to buy adapter and convert Sigma. Add there my favorite Helios 44M (both lenses cover Fuji's sensor) and it would be ultimate photography kit

On the other hand used K-1 for 1K € would be very good too Spare money I could put to my son's savings

Imagine if we all got $5000 to spend and everyone chipped in a 1% donation to PentaxForums!

Think of the possibilities here!
