Auto Focus Problem - Help!!

Have been using MF for a while with Takuma lenses. Tonight I fitted an AF lense and will not auto focus - swapped to other lenses same, & yes the switch is set to AF.

Any thoughts.

Sorry, but have to ask this: Is your camera an auto focus model?

If so, tell us which camera body and which AF lens combination is not working.

Most of the times, its a matter of cleaning the electrical contacts on the lens mount (lens and camera side).

Thanks Robert, it's a K100d as in my signature, have tried 2 AF lenses and have cleaned the contacts with a cleaning cloth (no chemicals). If anyone has any thoughts I would appreciate.

Have also noted even in Manual Focus the Focus assist lights are not working, so it seems internal.

Does the K100D have the back AF button and the ability to disable AF on half press of the shutter button?

Thank you

Yes it does, and if the "ok" button is set to "enable af" then the camera will not autofocus until you hit "ok." This is a plausible explanation of the problem.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I had mistakenly set the camera up in this way - playing around with settings with Man Focus lenses.

I was always confident someone on this site new how to fix.
