so I bought an *ist

I went to the local Wolf Cameras store and was able to pick up a *ist DS brand new for 200 and some change. And I have to say I am please. I think my goal was to get a k20d but I don't mind going small to big later, and having a backup.

I think this forum helped me along to stay with pentax and not the others.

<$200 for a brand new ist DS? I am green with envy In another thread I just said I am torn between whether to buy a used ist DL for the same amount!

Great find! I am sure you will be happy with the camera.

Even thought I have the K20 I still love my DS. I use it as a second body when I don't want to switch lenses. Absolutely nothing wrong with it at all

Other than w/o SR, the DS is considered to be the best Pentax budget DSLR so far (imho anyway).

I bought the original *istD when they came out. Nice camera for now, and great at the time. You may be without all the latest toys, but it will only make you a better photographer! Best of luck with it!
