Also people here are not so found on pentax.
What modern device can i buy to replace the body of my pentax ist DL?
I want one that i can fit all the old lenses off my dad on. He uses lenses from back in the 80's. thats why he bought this camera.
Would be a shame to have to buy all new gear when its only the body that broken
Can anybody advise please?
kind regards
Every Pentax has the same great backwards-compatibility, so you'll be able to use your old lenses as well as new ones. I'd recommend getting one of the high-durability bodies, like the K-3, K-5, or KP, as also recommended above. Another great option (from a feature standpoint) is the K-70, which you can get new with warranty at an affordable price.
All of these cameras will blow the DL out of the water in just about every area. If you're on a budget, get a K-5 II, which is probably the best value second-hand at the moment.
