only Standard and Embedded. Any idea why this was? Both were DNG raw files with same in camera setttings :S
I could refer you to my comment above, but will repeat to make it easier

Only three recent model Pentax cameras have listed profiles in Lightroom for other than Adobe Standard and Embedded: K-3II, K-1, and K-1ii. This is not advertised anywhere and the only reason I know it is because I know where to look for the files and I only know that because I am bored and don't have a life. On my computer they are in folders by camera name:

C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera

The "Program Data" directory is a hidden directory.

Fun, eh?

I saw this video;

Pentax 50mm 1.4 vs 43mm 1.9 Limited Series STILLS TEST Part 1 of 2 - YouTube

I linked that time to illustrate what I see with my FA77 vs some other lenses. It feels like it drives contrast and colours more. Despite the heavy corner vignetting (easily fixed in post), the FA43 @f2 I like more than what I see from the DFA 50 (in that particular shot/instance). Colours more saturated, punchier, DFA feels more 'washed out'.
I'll look into it, seems interesting.

Now as the video continues the FA43 seems more washed out, I think it's due to the sun, and the idiot shooting into it! Also, he even compared f1.4 vs f1.9 and I've always said the DFA50/1.4 is mostly about f1.4, that's where your monies really going! Starting both lenses out at f2 for comparisons is a tad odd imo.
Well, if the guy's an idiot, maybe not so interesting then

But man look at the size differences of those two lenses. I just cannot ever have a DFA50, because I shoot primes only, and that means I swap lenses frequently from a belt pouch, they do need to be small in order to carry them on jobs. Something of this size needs to be a zoom imo, that makes sense, but a prime...! :S
I agree. For all its WR, the DFA50 seems like the ultimate studio lens to me. Maybe my opinion will change but having replaced the DA21 by the FA20-35, I find the latter annoyingly large, and it's not really bigger than the 77, so.....

I find his channel amusing, sorta thing to watch over a solo lunch session

But yeah, the DFA50 I cannot wrap my head around really, WR for what is as you say a good idea for studio work. I couldn't go out and shoot with just that lens, I'd need to swap which makes it's size incredibly off putting. Having swapped my Samyang 85/1.4 for a FA77/1.8 I greatly appreciate the size trade, and for this prime shooter I typically always leave the lens hoods on for the quickest lens swap possible, so things get worse for me when factoring hoods as well (they go face down into a pouch). I never enjoyed taking the hood off the Sammy 85 when swapping lens because the size was just too big with the hood on for stowing away purposes etc.

Horses for races I guess.

A Star lens is WR, so the 50 is WR. Plus there are probably many use cases where the 50 will leave the studio (on-location portraits, for one, journalists for another, some landscape or cityscape photographers, etc).

Using a system like the Think Tank modular belt will work, just have a pouch for each lens, even if the pouch is bigger than its neighbour it's basically the same operation.

That being said, I'm a fan of smaller lenses too, I even removed the hood from the FA43 because to me one of the main purposes of this lens is utter compactness and portability.
