ist DS question

How do I determine the number of images I have taken so far with my ist DS ?

I think that the file name / number is the number of shots taken. (someone please correct me if I'm wrong)

There is a parameter in EXIF of an image called "shutter actuations" or something like this. Use Light Room or any other software that can read all EXIF info from your image to see this parameter.

File name will go back to 1 after 10000 shots.

Yep, 10000 shots and back to zero, My DS has not reached that - yet, but my K10D has and is now 17000 shots.

Can you imagine the cost in film? Me neither.
