I just recently bought a DA`50-135 and I think it is back focusing. (see https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/41785-da-50-13...tml#post394450 )
I was just reviewing the debug mode for K10D and am wondering if the focus adjust that is referred to will only effect the SDM lens? Since all my other lenes use the body motor and even the 50-135 looks sharp in the view finder, this might be THE answer for me.
Does anyone know?
Thanks,
Brian

It will affect all lenses.

Pedro,
I went to Photography Rulez: Debug mode with latest firmware (YEAH!) which has the debug mode for V1.3 in English with an explanation. Rulez also walks you through getting out of debug mode. I was able to get into debug and focus adjust fairly easily. I used the focus chart linked to by Yvon Bourque at a 45` angle, a tripod, and the 2 second delay shutter release. After several trial and correction cycles I was able to bring the actual focus point to the center line. It Works! (real outdoor tests still to be done to confirm that it works).
Regards,
Brian

I have been using this in my K10D for well over half a year. In the beginning I did switch it off, but since last summer it has been on all the time. I have not noticed any problems with this.
It does affect both SDM and screw-drive AF.

Pepe, (or anyone),
I've just done some early morning testing outside and all looks OK. I do have one question that I'm curious about. When I entered the focus adjustment, there was a control at the top that gave choices of 0, 1, 2, or 3. I left it set on zero when I did my adjustments. What is this variable? Is this to allow different settings for different lenses? Would I have to keep the camera in debug to manually switch back and forth or would the camera recognise the lens and use a specific setting for that lens? (I'm talking DA* 50-135 here.)

I was also a bit puzzled about these choises. You do get the impression that it would be possible to save different settings for up to four lenses.
After experimenting with this, I never got it to work.
The body also has difficulties in recognizing some of my lenses, especially the ones from Sigma.
Eventually I gave up as my commonly used lenses all work well with a fairly similar setting. So, for me it did not turn out to be a major issue.
I believe this function has been improved in the K20D, where you really can save different settings for different lenses.

There is no need to use a special program or to downgrade firmware in order to enter the debug mode on k10d. It is enough to place a text file MODSET.txt containing only one line of text [OPEN_DEBUG_MENU] in the root of your SD card. Donīt forget to place a line break in the end of this line, or it will not work.
