I would be concerned that the warranty wouldn't work. I got it through Amazon plus the free bag although the strap would have been nice since the OEM one is so skinny.

that was not a "buy it now" price though - but bidding, so your mileage might be different - but certainly it is a good price

Prodigital have sold quit a few in the last weeks that were under $700 shipped, so while your mileage may vary, any number under $700 is very good mileage

Cameta Camera (reputable store - my 2 FF Sigma lenses are from them) sells K20D body through ebay now for US $829.95 plus free UPS ground shipping in USA...

I've been doing some price checking and have heard Cameta Camera is good. However when I checked what is 'in the box' with a new K20D body with them as compared to pentax store and some other sellers, Cameta is missing AC plug,bottom cap and focusing screen. Focusing screen alone sells for @ $57.00 at pentax.

focusing screen is not "in the box" - it is already installed inside the camera... did you check that they included the sensor too in the box

Wow. I've only had the K100D for a handful of months, and already I am thinking of more. For THAT kind of money, how can I not consider it?

The way I see it, I am taking a fair number of shots. I travel a lot and carry the camera with me, many opportunities. I have a drawer full of Pentax M lenses. My situation justifies a better camera. Some of the "good" shots I have taken could have been technically better, what a shame.

Do you think the wife will buy that argument????

Again... With the prices of these TOTL cameras going down, how long until everyone has a decent DSLR? A K100D for $200.00? ???. What about ist? The point is to grab up all the old SMC glass you can. Folks are still throwing it away.

no offense to the K100D, it was a great camera, and I owe what I know about digital photography to it, but I found myself going into the menus more and more and wanting a bit of this and bit of that... with the price drop, it was a no brainer.

Yes,I get that. Was just reporting verbatim what other sellers listed"in the box" as compared to Cameta(other sellers,including Pentax website are the one's that found it necessary to list that). And still does not explain the other exclusions. Was just curious as I have heard very good things about Cameta and was going to buy from them and didnt want to miss out on anything I should be receiving with the purchase.
