Congratulations on the K-1/Fat Fifty combination - it'll be terrific!

Congratulations on your awesome new combo! Seems fitting that a man who wears a Rolex would also shoot Pentax's top-of-the-line camera and lens too

Ha! Unfortunately, both the top-of-the-line Pentax and Rolex will have to shield their faces in shame while riding alongside their owner in his 15 year old Subaru (which I fully intend to drive into the ground). We all have our little 'somethings' we tie some of our money and attention in.

Rolex was my 31st birthday to myself (was supposed to be my 30th, but student loans and other finances took priority for that year). I personally blame James Bond and Robert Redford (All the President's Men) for being a victim to marketing.

Pentax? It wasn't Drew Barrymore.

Another point of view: the more people buying DA560 or DFA 150-450 (or both), the bigger chances Pentax might develop new generation of (D) FA* 600 f/4 or something like DFA* 500 mm f/4 or f/4.5. There are reasons why I prefer one system instead of two....)
I enjoy your work on the 300mm Thread w/ the DA560. I'm covered on the telephoto side with my 500 f/4 and D500. I was really really fortunate to get that on the Black Friday sale. As much as I love Pentax, until I see some traction on the APSC flagship, I am content with running my D500 into ground....replacing the shutter....and running it into the ground again (because there is nothing from Nikon that is good enough to tempt me away from my D500).

Owning a K-1 as I do, that has to be the biggest 50/1.4 I have ever seen (and I have a fairly representative spread across the Pentax heritage - Super Takumar, M and FA). The general appearance gives the impression of a lens the same size as the DA18-135.
It's a chunk! It balances wonderfully with the K1 in hand, but I could imagine it being an absolute pain to handle on a lighter body.

Got the same kit sitting about 2 feet away from me. Been using it for several weeks now and I'm getting more and more hooked on it. Amazing image quality and...great upper body fitness too! Enjoy.

Took a stroll around Cathedral Park and grabbed a snack along the way. Still getting acquainted, but very pleased with what I am seeing.

Well, ain't that a purty combo! Have fun!

P.S.: Seeing your Cathedral Park pics, it appears you're right up the road (er, river) from me. Come on up the Channel this summer and say hi!

What a fine pairing, congratulations! It's not every camera and lens that can deliver sharp results at f/1.4 that's for sure. You should have used a wider lens in your photo so we can see your bicep- no doubt it is growing!

Snapped it quickly with my Android. I could have held it over my head to show my arm quivering/struggling to support such weight.
