so this happened today...

After sitting in my wishlist for almost year, I finally picked up the K-1. Decided to pair it with the DFA 50mm 1.4 (which is, quite possibly, one of the heaviest non telephoto primes I have handled).

There was a slight temptation to further expand with Nikon FX (to compliment my D500), but after comparing the DNGs to some of the sample files of the D750/D810/D850, I decided that the K-1ii was the best choice for me for Portraits/Landscape/Stills. The glass commitment I have to Nikon is all in telephoto, so running two systems should be totally fine and not create too much conflict.

Waiting for the battery to charge to update the firmware. Should be a great weekend with this new sidekick/brick by my side.

Nice! It looks so well balanced in your hand that now I want a 50/1.4 for my K-1!

Enjoy!

Seems like K-1 II pairs with DFA50 pretty well. Congratulation!

("The glass commitment I have to Nikon is all in telephoto, so running two systems should be totally fine and not create too much conflict." Another point of view: the more people buying DA560 or DFA 150-450 (or both), the bigger chances Pentax might develop new generation of (D) FA* 600 f/4 or something like DFA* 500 mm f/4 or f/4.5. There are reasons why I prefer one system instead of two....)

Owning a K-1 as I do, that has to be the biggest 50/1.4 I have ever seen (and I have a fairly representative spread across the Pentax heritage - Super Takumar, M and FA). The general appearance gives the impression of a lens the same size as the DA18-135.
