Differing shutter count results?

The Pentaxforums.com count is about 3000, and same for another shutter count website,
The EXIFTOOL by Phil Harvey is giving 53000.
Can somebody enlighten me on which figures are correct?

Maybe it is a field issue...eg 3000 versus 5:3000

post a jpeg and someone else can check

Never really thought about it, but is each pixel shift shot counted as 1 or 4 ? Assume this isn't the issue, but ...

We also use exiftool under the hood, so it sounds like it may indeed be a formatting issue that's giving you the 53000.

I copied this JPEG to my desktop then opened it with EXIFtool (the basic command-line version), it gives a shutter count of 3561.

I must have an unstable version, this picture gave me a very large number in Exitfool.
Thanks for the information.

Are you specifying any command line parameters to see the Shutter Count?
I just use `exiftool photo.jpg | grep -i shutter`, to pull out the plain text line.
The image above shows 3561 for me, as well.
