My first DSLR was the Pentax K2000 (k-m) I. Got in 2009. At the time I got it I was using a ZX-5 film and I had a Canon Pro90is. The Canon was a nice all-in-one with a 10x IS lens but was only 2.6MP. I think I paid about $500 for it which was less than 1/2 what I had paid for the Canon. I didn't realize at the time that the K2000 didn't have live preview...something I just assumed all digital cameras had. I still have the K2000 and use it as a backup to my K--S2. Recently I had the K--S2 being repaired for aperture block issue and used the K2000 for a month. While it lacks allot it still can do a decent job and I actually learned allot about it I didn't know...even after 10 yrs later. I always had battery issue with it until I switch to Panasonic eneloop pro batteries. Because of the battery issues I didn't use it allot so it still in very clean condition.

K-01 (I know - not a reflex camera, but it is the era and the sensor . . . . )

I sold off all my dSLR’s from that era when I got the K-1 and intended to sell all the DA lenses. I only have a KP because a member had a need to sell his (and a low serial silver FA77 and FA*300) right after he bought it and offered a generous discount for all three as a package. I had intended to sell the KP but it is such a nice camera that I kept it, along with the DA lenses that were on my For Sale table.

There is a part of me that still wants to cut back to only the K-1, a few FA’s, and manual lenses. I know I won’t buy the next APSc body. What’s keeping me in the APSc stuff is the images that come out of the K-01 with the DA Limiteds and the small package size of the KP and the three pancakes.

It would be really interesting to see FF pancake versions of the DA21, DA40 and DA70.

K-50 even with aperture block failure my used body.....love the old glass I put on it, the file size is easy to work with especially with panos/brenizer stuff and since it should not really be in service I am fearless with it which I would not do with my 'newer' bodies......very pleased with what I can get out this camera

I traded two Adaptall 2 lenses for a K-5 because I've always wanted another one, (sent the first one to my oldest granddaughter), and I have a K-50. The K-5 is just in case the K-50 develops ABF, sort of, but I wanted the K-5 because of the low ISO80. Coming from film, I missed that option.

My first DSLR is K20d - had it for a few years now. Then got K10d for a friend to use, but she says it's 'too heavy', so has returned to me for use and affection ! She now has a K-m, but only uses the kit lens, as carrying a telephoto zoom is, you guessed it, 'too heavy'. So, when we go out, guess who carries everything from Sigma 10-20 up to unbranded 500mm mirror lens, plus all ancillary bits, including tripod. Very occasionally, I get to take photos.

I've still got my K-x from 2009. Fixed the aperture/zoom knob recently, and got the MODSET.492 file to fix front/back focus. The sensor and camera processing still work well, and the camera's barely hovering at 10% of its rated shutter life. Love using the Lithium AAs for it... I can run on that for a few months VS having to recharge the batteries on my MILC every other day or so, built by the makers of the PS4 and a few of my favorite home entertainment components. S^&*... yeah LOL (it's all good) Hey, at least I got a Pentax K adapter for it with an aperture ring on it so I can use my lenses on the MILC!

Oh yeah...
Just got home an hour ago and unpacked my new K-70 kit from B&H. Charging the battery now... another three hours left before I can experiment with the new piece. Bought it with the 18-135 WR lens + Sandisk 32 GB card and Chiaro UV filter.

My first (serious) camera, the K-01 of course. That sensor is just lovely.

I have a K5. I still use my K5 on a regular basis. Good camera. But it doesn't compare to my K1.

I'm wondering how these older DSLRs are holding up today. I'm especially curious about how their IQ stands up.
Still using my K5D as a second body. It carries the DA300 while the K3II carries the FA100 macro when I'm in the field. It still produces very pretty images, though it's a little beaten-up at this point.

K-5 IIs which I gave to my wife when I bought K-1.

K-5 IIs fixed the poor AF in artificial light which was huge improvement over K-5. Also the lack of AA filter was instant wow with increased sharpness. K-5 IIs is still great camera.
