Kirk has a K-1

No surprise since he's owned everything at least once, but K.Tuck picked up a local K-1 and 28-105 to mess with. Any press is good press

Me too. " You can't just stumble over to amazon and pick up a new 85mm f1.8 because....most lenses don't exist in the Pentax universe (well, except the ones from yesteryear. But we're mostly over manually focusing and stopping down)

It is true that "old codgers" - in which I include myself and I'm under 40 - love talking up legacy Pentax glass. And while we have a point, I have seen Canikon folks eyes glaze over.

I've plenty of both cheap and classic, ready for a K-1. Sigmas 28-80 + 100-300, A50, M100/200, 24 Vivitar.. some day they'll be at their 'right' viewing angles again

And yes is comments betray his experience - but perhaps Fuji is now teaching him about 'zany' FLs?
Not to mention the 36x24 diagonal = 43.2.. so who defines what's zany?

Me too. What's funny, he says "it take good pictures" and then... but.. but.. but "it doesn't have an EVF" etc.. etc.

That's not the kind of review that is going to improve my images. From photography standpoint, such article has zero value.

To me the cons seemed tongue firmly in cheek territory.

I thought it was an article from The Onion.

The way I read it, "I'm downrating it from a Gold at 99% to a Silver at 80% because the K-1 doesn't have an EVF" was actually poking fun at DPR...

Seriously, I think this is a great little review that describes the K-1 (and 28-105) in a very positive light. The cons he mentions are largely tongue in cheek, though he's quite correct - we really do love to crow about our legacy glass

Liked the comment on the Canon users being too scared to say anything to anybody.

I like the bit from someone in the comments about putting gaffer tape over the logo to freak people out because they don't know what system you are using. I think we could go one better than that - thinking back to @BigMackCam 's legendary review - and get little stickies that say "CAMERA" to put over our logos.

After reading the article a second time, I agree. I'd been to quick on the first pass.

Basically he is letting the images do the talking. Judge the camera by it's image quality. Everything else is just (tongue in cheek) gaffe.

I hadn't seen that one, but I think I may just do it!
