As a photographic noob, I went on a hiking trip with my new (to me) Pentax SP1000 and 90-230mm zoom. There was this one river crossing where my precautions were not good enough and the SP1000 got wet. It did not work afterwards. I could not take any more pictures. The film did not suffer and my images were OK(ish). I took the camera in for repair and it was fixed for a very reasonable price. All is well that ends well.

Not (yet) dropped a camera, but the other week I was out birding, missed my footing and fell full length on a concrete slab. Both bins and scope underneath me. I weigh over 18 stone.

Optics still work fine, but I had some really odd-shaped bruises, which the doctor remarked on when I went for a chest examination. Not sure he believed the reason...
