Firmware improvement should come before any hardware change.
Such as: possibility of EFCS for multi-exposures, HDR, and exposure bracketing drive modes.
Such as: timer value dialed in via a list of value from 0.1 s. to 30 s. for delayed exposures with and without IR remote, instead of 2 s. and 12 s. fixed delays currently implemented, or 3 s. fixed delay for remote IR mode.
Such as: possibility of engaging ES for silent shooting (without rear curtain drop) or to also use EFCS when using the OVF.
All those functions are possible and useful and do not require any hardware change.

I'd buy one....if someone gave me the money. I think the idea of the K-1 Super moniker is, well, super. I have a ME Super in a drawer.

Could be an additional firmware feature. Hum.. focus bracketing require lenses that don't have focus breathing. So it mostly good for macro where the focus range of narrow.

The joystick is probably the thing I miss most about the Canon 5D. The added grip also has a joystick and it just works so well. Not a fan of how to select AF points on K-1 and it's even worse when you use a grip.

I'm on board with that.
Yep that's what my Sony weighs..

Just like the K-1, except:
1) carbon fiber body, or any other material that could lose at least 1/3 the wright.
2) electronic shutter with flash sync speed of at least 1/500 (The cheap Nikon D50 had this ten years ago, so it can be done.)
Thanks, that is all.

After lurking about the forums for a while and seeing what people want from a future full-frame Pentax model, I have messed about on Photoshop and some K-1 promo images and made a concept for the "ideal" K-1 successor.

Visually, it's not much different to the K-1 (that camera is probably one of the most well thought out cameras I have used and am grateful to own) and most of the changes are based on the nitpicking I've seen while lurking and general improvements to the internals to kind of "catch-up" with the competing brands without being overly excessive.

It would be cool to hear what you guys think of this!

At least support the current standard in the next gen camera
- no time limit for video recording
- Wifi 6/AX, not AC
- SD Express for 985MBytes/s . not UHS-II at only 312MB/s
- SDUC, not SDXC because video files should be allowed to be greater than 2TB
- 8K resolution video . Pentax missed the boat on 4K, so need to go to 8K now at least.
- RAW video support . At least 3x10 bits
- at least 60fps progressive video recording
- a proper fully articulated screen that I can look at when recording myself, like any old camcorder . Sorry but the current K-1 II screen doesn't cut it
- video autofocus
- a drone to carry the camera for us, fast recharging solar high capacity battery, since it's going to be one heavy camera
- built-in time machine for all the shots I missed not carrying the camera

After using the ME's *giant* 0.97x viewfinder, I would love that on a DSLR.
