Boost performance on K3

I just bought a KP and the performance increase left me wondering if my K3 was missing a trick. Is the better IQ down to KP hardware or are there any settings tweaks I can apply to bring my beloved k3 up to the new bar

The KP has a newer sensor. That's responsible for the improved image quality.

Aaah, OK. I thought it was just the processor and new auto focus ... And better stabilization lol I actually thought the sensor was the one thing that hadn't changed. Thanks for the advice to buy. Best thing I ever did

As Adam says, the KP has a newer sensor. However, if you're shooting raw, careful use of both colour and luminance noise reduction can get your K-3 images looking almost as good at mid-to-high ISO settings. The raw development software you use will play a big part here, but Lightroom, Darktable and RawTherapee all have very powerful noise reduction capabilities. Pentax DCU is, IMHO, far less capable in this respect...
