When there's contests like this we all tend to be a bit obnoxious. LOL

I will not just have one camera to rely on. I will sell my K-30 (May be) or give to one of my granddaughter. I will keep my K-3 for my backup if and when I upgrade. Then again my K-30 does not cost me to keep it and not sure how much to expect as it is physically worn in appearance, used lots.

I will keep my K1 and K1ii.
I still have a K3 though ... and could sell it.

I have my K-1 but sold the K-3II to purchase a Nikon D500 as I wanted a camera that could actually track a moving subject properly.

The new camera will have to be at least as good as the Nikon AF wise for me to buy it.

My first DSLR was the K30, next one was the KP which I like a lot more and I wasn’t unhappy with the K30. I got the KP on the Black Friday sale at B&H last year. I will want the new one but price is important and I’m sure it’s going to be a fair amount more than the KP so I’m hoping I can wait for the first discount round. Sell a camera? The K30 can’t be worth much and it hasn’t had the failure yet, it’s worth more as a backup and I’ll let my grandkids use it.

I don't feel I've tapped into many of the KP's capabilities yet, so no need to buy another. MyK-50 works well and wouldn't command much anyway. Now if I win the lottery and have 'stupid' money, sure.

No I won't sell my K1, as long as it's working well. I still have my K10D, Km, K5 and all continue to work well..touch wood. I probably wouldn't get a lot of money, either trade in or selling privately and I still use them a fair amount. At this point I don't need the money, I like using them...so why..oh...why..is the question that pops to mind.

I like to always carry around a camera...because...you just never know what you will come across in your journey...do you ?

I'm also fortunate to have a grandson and although he's still a little tyke, at this point he has a fascination with cameras and photography. He may inherit some very good camera equipment .

Same deal with my vintage motorcycles...an old Yamaha big single and a Matchless Scrambler. I'm not riding as much as I used to...getting old, eh...and I think my son would like to have these old motorcycles eventually, to complement his newer BMW motorcycle.

I need 2 new cameras for my kids. If I will buy something for them, it would be 2 KPs. Not that this camera isn't good enough. It will probably be the best APSC that Pentax will produce to date. But, the KP will be a lot cheaper and it may fit my budget.

I'd probably sell the K-3. The K-1, KP, K-01, and full-spectrum modified K-5 all stay at this time.
For my needs, the KP has fully supplanted the K-3, even with its several weaknesses. So the "K-new" APS-C camera actually has little to do with the K-3 going.

So will I even get the K-new? If it has no flippy screen, the KP will continue to handle my needs for a while. Unless I go to the Serengeti, in which case the K-new will accompany the KP, with probably a DFA 150-450 on it.

I’m not really in the market for the K-new so I’ll keep my K-1 and KP, but if a new K-FF comes along I will sell pretty much everything to buy it.

The new APS-C will have a moveable screen - It's just you have to move the camera too.

I still have my K-7, K-5, K-5 II, K-3, K-3 II and K-1 (along with an MX-1, a Q and two Q7s). Does that answer the question?

Someone posted that the camera pops out of the screen. I would assume that the screen is left in your hands and camera drops off. Good luck to catching it.

I'm also better at buying than at selling gear, and not counting that used *istD I bought, I only have one digital Pentax camera, so another one will do no damage... I might look into buying a strap system to carry two cameras at once, equipped with two different lenses, to be ready for changing situations in an instant...

Not so sure yet if my next camera will be the new flagship, a KP or a K-1... I'll keep a close eye on used and new prices until the specs and price of the new camera will be clear, perhaps I'll have decided on something before that...

I still use my *ist DS occasionally with a DA35/f2.4 plastic fantastic on it. My son’s using my K-5 with a DA35/f2.8 Limited Macro on it. Like others, I haven’t learnt to sell cameras, and even if I had, would I sell the K-3II? Heck no!
Ditto except that I swapped the DA35/2.4 on my DS for the DA40 a few days ago.

I'd assume the new APS-C flagship would be priced somewhat above the current KP prices, which gets very close to discounted K1-II territory. In which case I'd have to have a really good think about whether to go APS-C or FF.
