It seems a good one. The first photo I shoot on Tuesday evening with the Mk. II kit lens (I'd already bought that for the K110D Super) looked impressive. Have now got a 2nd-hand DA 16-45/F4 and it looks even more so.

The only negative I can see is with "M" lenses. Like the K10D, the K20D does not handle the exposure determination as well as the K100D series. Will know more this week-end when I do some serious prime-lens shooting.

Digital Camera warehouse is selling k20D with 18-250 pentax lens for A$1670. If the body is A$1225, that means the 18-250 lens is A$445. Is this a good price?

I am gonna give my wife the k100D so that she can pair this will the 18-250 lens. She hate changing lens in the field. I can then use the k20D with my other lenses.

Raider, I don't know if that's a good price. I know where you are coming from. Personally, I'd prefer the DA 16-45/F4 or Sigma 17-70/F2.8-F4.5 which are both a bit cheaper, but as you said, it's for the missus. Here's a review for the Pentax superzoom:

I think I might just as well save up for k20D and 18-250. I just need another 2 month to complete my savings.

The only reserve I have is that with the current world financial crisis and our falling dollar, whether it is worthwhile to buy this year christmas or to defer the purchase to much later.

Raider, I don't know about the camera price but I think the lens price is good when comparing it to US prices.

Is the unit u get from digital camera warehouse a good copy? Any problems u find so far?

I purchased my K20 from DCW. The first body did have some problems but they took care of it right away. Very good customer service and really fast shipping.
Just recieved a DA* 50-135 from them about an hour ago too!

1. What kind of problems u get from the k20D?

2. What did you do? Did you call them to say the k20D has issues? Do they send the courier boys to take the k20D from you and gave u a new one? or do you mail the unit back to them? what is the procedure like?

1. Slow focus and excessive front focus, slow computing/rendering, out of line Af coupler, high iso banding and excessive stuck pixels. The replacement also has a slightly wonky Af coupler but everything else about it is spot on so ive kept this one.

2. Sent an email explaining the faults. It was within the first week so they just told me to send it back and theyll send a replacement body. Sent it in the package i recieved it in (I paid postage). As soon as they got if back they sent the new body out and i had it next day.

Been shootin all arvo with the 50-135 and this baby aint goin back!

Would deal with them again. Recommended. Perth prices arent close enough for most stuff, i even get memory cards from them.

Wow. That's a lot of flaws for a new body.

As for the excessive front focus, I assume that that is not adjustable by just fine tuning the AF?

From your experience, I am thinking twice to order from them. Prolly would just go to camera electronic in stiring or the shop at murray street. I just hope they reduce prices in 2 months time.

Seen the k20d at amazon going for U$S 833.99. At that price the k20d is soooo tempting. My problem is switching from canon to pentax. Itīs hard to do that when you have some gear from another brand.

To me, it seems that the price on the K20 is dropping like gas prices here in the US. The cheapest gas station on my way to work this morning had their gas at $2.96/gallon.

K20D falling price?

And yet what is supposed to be a clone, the Samsung GX20 appears to be gaining ground. Or at least holding its price. Strange. Haven't I got enough to confuse my few remaining brain cells?

I'm sure some of you have thought of the fact that with America being in some economic problems that first, you should consider spending this much money on something of only a strong desire and secondly, that retailers will no doubtedly continue to lower prices as we get closer to the holiday shopping season.
That should give you some time to think about the purchase and then I think we can all agree that the prices will be the lowest from late November until middle January. Also giving us some time to work a little over time, sell some things we no longer find use for and consider our savings and financial future.
Sorry if that is a complete downer for anyone, but I think I just might take my own advice and sell some plasma to get a K20 after I help meet my family's needs.

And a external harddrive to store twice as many digital images.
