Borrow a lens

Hi,
This thursday the 16th I will be in the Bloomington, Indiana area and was wondering if anyone around that area knows of a place I can rent Pentax glass. If not, then I was wondering if there are any local pentaxians that wold be willing to let me try out their lens for a day. I am looking for long glass to shoot some Field Hockey at Indiana University. My longest lens is the DA★200mm and want to try something a little longer. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. These photos are just for our family memories but would love to shoot with something a bit longer. If anyone is interested please PM me. Thank you

Good luck in your lens hunt. Longer may be better. However, I think your DA*200 will be plenty, especially if you crop a tad. I imagine you'll be down alongside the field, so being too close may actually be a problem on occasion.

Here's a shot I took from the front of the second level of the Sugar Bowl with my DA*50-135 (at 135mm) and my K10D. I've cropped this quite a bit, but I think it still holds up okay. From the sidelines (about 50 yards away from my seat), the 50-135 would have been plenty, and the 200 would give me good shots of faces and emotions.

What about buying a 1.4X teleconvertor for your DA*200?
