Should I start to worry about that button?

Hi Guys,
I was dealing with the same problem twice on two Pentax cameras K20D and K 5iis.
That little button that unlocks the lens just fell.

First time on K20D I lost it and had to make something similar, second time with K5IIs I was lucky a little bit, the button fell when the camera was in a bag, so I found it and glued back by superglue.
Should I worry for the same button robustness with K-1? The camera is 1 year old, so I am afraid to lose it.
Did you face with this issue?
Thank you.
Vasyl

That is bad luck! The one in my K-1 is still going strong. I have read reports about the K-5, but I don't recall any about the K-1.

My K10D is still going strong. Its only the K-5/ii that this seems rather common. Replacement parts - button, weather seal and retaining ring - are available from US Camera - common parts to all the K-mount DSLRs.

I wouldn't give it a second thought, but then I'm not you

I've seen a few reports of this. Most reports were on the k-5 series but I've seen other bodies impacted.

Also changing lenses often and it's a bit wobbly on the k-1. Didn't fell off yet.

It was a common issue with the K-5. It's happened to me - during a commercial live music shoot. Miraculously, I found the button and the little rubber collar in the photographers' pit. A Heath Robinson repair with SuperGlue lasted until I sold the body (with full disclosure of course, years ago).

I have smashed a K-3 and two K-1's since then without issues, so I suspect Pentax managed to sort it out.

Ok, sounds promising. Will see. :-)

My K5IIs with the superglue repaired was given to my son. The button is still OK. Well, the camera collects dust on a shelf, that is probably why the button is still in place...:-)

I must admit that's a new one on me, but hey that's what makes us special, overcoming the doom and gloom and carrying on shooting.

My K-01 had a more serious condition of losing its mode dial. Luckily I managed to find it lol.
