Inverted image on display of a Pentax K100D

Somebody gave me a Pentax K100D. He told me, that the display had been replaced. Since then it displays everything with inverted tones. Every picture looks like a negative. Has anyone an idea how to fix this?

I've never seen something like that. Can you post a photo?

Is it just the display or are the resulting photos actually inverted (jpgs) ?

That's a key question.

If the images only show on the display it is a good chance the parts are either defective or improperly replaced. Reseating or resoldering the connectors might help.

My experience with displays is that sometimes the matrix connection of the display gets shifted just a bit and it results in a seemingly negative image. I forget now what device I had to retake apart and rebuild now, but this was the end result.

This doesn't effect the images. I wouldn't even mind if they were negative, because than I could use that body for quick and easy scans of images on bw oder coloured negatives.

I bought that body to disable the SDM of my DA* 300 mm. Now I keep it just in case that need ever occurs again. Therefore it is not a real issue, that everything is inverted on the display. But it would be nice, if there is a easy hack with the buttons. I will not takeit apart.
