hello - Ive been a pentax user for 35yrs, but am new to digital. This full frame stuff has me very frustrated! I bought a 2.8 tamron lens and discovered the hard way that the lens didnt cover the k-1 full frame.

I need an 18 to 10 mm that doesnt give me a fisheye look [like the cannon 10~18, yes i know this is not a full frame lens = its the wifes lens].

There doesnt seem to be a good option for the K1, only the k3 or 5.

someone out there have a list of lenses [old or new] that has auto focus and has from 18~10? could be a zoom or a fixed that isnt a fisheye-look, that isnt 1000$

The Sigma DG 12-24 f/4.5-5.6 is extremely wide (like an 8-16 on APS-C) and absolutely not fisheye. However, it's only available used and not easy to get.

The Rokinon/Samyang 14/2.8 is also very nice on the K-1, is inexpensive, but it's not auto-focus

P.S. I may be wrong, but I don't think any makes a non-fisheye 10mm for full frame.

You might have to settle for a manual focus ultra wide angle lens for that price range for Full Frame camera.

10-18 mm on full frame is similar in angle of view of 6.5mm-12mm on apsc. Are you sure you need that wide?

Pentax have never made a FF zoom in that range. The widest is 15-30

There are some old primes that would work :

K 15mm 3.5
A 15mm 3.5
K 18mm 3.5

Why do you want something so very very wide ? It will be enormously expensive.

I would look at the 15-30mm. It's a really good wide-angle for FF.

You must understand, the 10-20mm or 11-18mm options for the K3 or 5 cannot be compared to the same focal length being used with a FF body. For instance, a 28mm lens on a FF body will produce a field of view which is substantially wide angle, while that same lens on a K3 or 5 (APS-C size sensor) will provide a different field of view which will not be wide angle at all. A 10mm lens on a K3 or 5 will provide a wide angle FOV similar to a 15mm lens on a K-1. So if you want a wide angle zoom lens having F2.8 aperture for use with a K-1 body, that will function like a 10-20mm or 11-18mm on a K3 or 5, that will be the Pentax DFA 15-30mm f/2.8 zoom lens.

Such a lens will not come cheap. And it will be substantially heavy. f/2.8 zoom lenses tend to be that way. Especially lenses for a FF body.

As others have pointed out, the DFA15-30 gives an equivalent field of view to the Sigma 10-20mm on a crop camera. That's already stupidly wide.

If you want to go even wider, the Laowa D-Dreamer 12mm Zero-D gives a field of view as wide is the Sigma 8-16 at the short end. And the Irix 11mm is even wider. Be warned; these lenses are very difficult to use well. I just received my Laowa in the mail today, and I look forward to learning how to use it creatively.

I have the old 15 and 18 lenses but I don't get why anyone needs autofocus for these superwides. For most shots, just set the focusing at hyperfocal distance for your chosen aperture and shoot away. AF just adds weight, expense, and complexity.

That list is valid, and all those lenses are good options.

The DFA 15-30mm is AF, WR, and extremely good. It's big though.

The DA* 11-18mm is an APS-C lens but from 14 to 18mm it works on FF. And at 11mm it works with a square crop.

The FA 20-35mm can be had used if you look close enough.

Just a note, if you want the same field of view as what your wife gets on her APS-C camera, then 15-30 is an almost exact match. The widest mostly rectilinear lens available on FF is the Laowa 12mm.

The Laowa and Irix lenses, as well as the Pentax 15-30 and 11-18mm, have been reviewed here in-depth. You could look at the reviews to build your opinion.

Cheaper options but can only be found used are Tamron 17-35mm F2.8-4.0 , Sigma 17-35mm F2.8-4.0 (what I use), and the FA-J 18-35mm (Anything that says F or FA on it will work on Full Frame).

More expensive options are the FA 20-35mm, Sigma 12-24mm and Sigma 15-30mm f/3.5-4.5 or if you want to spend a lot more the Pentax DFA 15-30mm

I spent a lot of time looking for lenses, and right now I'm happy with the Sigma 17-35mm F2.8-4.0 that I got for $180 but I was thinking of upgrading to a 15-30mm.

In reality Pentax really needs a FF sub $1k wide angle. Several 3rd party manufacturers make these, but no one has made one for Pentax mount in decades.

As someone who has looked at many real estate pictures with a view to gaining a realistic expectation of what the property looks like, I can say you are making a mistake. Your paymaster is the person selling the property, but your prospective buyers will not be happy when they visit the property expecting to see that vast swathe of land/room/lawn that your pictures show, only to find out you have advertised an optical illusion. 15mm is too wide for what you want.
