I sit on a End-User Advisory Committee for the Systems Design and Implementation Group at a Fortune 50 company. Positively Sclerotic Process . . . .

Ricoh’s nicely making way.

We wait patiently. Just as we did for the first Pentax FF- the K-1. It is taking so long these days, and the market has been diminishing, because we have reached a point of diminishing returns. I am still admiring results delivered from my K-5 IIs, even though having the KP for over 2 years.

While there is a (very, very) theoretical chance for some to live to see it, I doubt they can still operate a camera by then
An even slimmer chance of being able to read files from an SD card take out of your 100 year old K-1 or KP

What should you do? Keep your camera close by and carry on.

.
I would imagine that most readers here already have a very competent digital camera and a stable of lenses they love. So, what should they do now? Here's what I'm doing now -

1. Master the use of flash.
2. Master the art and science of making prints
3. Purchase and learn to use the lastest image editing software (especially RAW image editors, and A.I. capable softwares)
4. Develop a photographic specialty (e.g. for 3 years now I've only shot fast prime lenses wide open for optimum quantity and quality of bokeh)

If you don't know already, you might want to learn how to maintain/CLA/repair your own lenses.

Just like any other Pentax Jedi would do, wait and be patient. But most important of all, go out for a walk and enjoy taking pictures.

New gear? And to think I saw a student during an on-campus protest yesterday photographing with a K1000 and 50mm lens!

I suspect we’ll learn more as CP+ at the end of February draws nearer.

Has the K-New been cancelled? The official anniversary date may have come and gone, but there is still a new camera on the horizon.
Were you expecting an uncharacteristically second camera to be in co-development?

Don't join the Dark side. Just go the darker side of the room to wait a while. Then, come into the light when the new gears are out. :lol :lol :lol
