We are in isolation for the next 30 days here, in Romnaia, isolation/quarantine that may be prolonged. So, not much to shoot.

But, yes, I have a back-up camera (or lenses) and a photo store is also open for renting gear in case one of the camera breaks and I have to shoot something that requires a back-up.

I have a K-50 and K-100D Super as a second camera. I found the K-100D Super handy as a backup when my K-50 came down with aperture block failure so that I could use my digital lenses. I did send the K-50 in to be fixed so it is fully functional now. I also have a K1000 and a roll of film for another backup :-)

Having at least one or better more than one backup bodies is definitely a good idea if possible. I am well covered, with 2 KP bodies along with a K-S2, K-5 and K-5 IIs. Nearly a decade represented here, in perfect condition and can still provide fine results. My older K20D still works fine, though not so fine for low light or higher ISO needs.

Yes, we can indeed still shoot photos while alone, and with an appropriate lens can include people, even strangers, while maintaining social distance.

We all hope this catastrophe will soon be under control so it will again be safe to go about fully living our lives!!

Darn it, Fenwoodian, your post pushed me into buying another K-1ii. Can't live without one it seems.

Don't think I'll need a(nother) backup body - see my signature!

I've got two K10Ds that were bought dirt cheap on ebay. One has 8k and the other 14k on the shutter count. On one I keep the Amigo 31 and the other Amigo 77. Buying a backup camera for whatever model you have is a great idea and also saves time on switching lenses.

When shooting fast moving events, such as sports, having two bodies with different lenses is a great way to roll.

We live in interesting times. You might get a great deal, but delivery could be problematic. Not to mention that the idea that funds might be tight in times to come - better put the GAS on hold.

Most certainly... in heartbeat... absolutely... no justification required.

I've acquired more backups than I will ever use here ... k3s , k20ds, k10ds. and a whole slew of film bodies. I'm good for a bit..a long bit. I have turned off my CBA,GBA, and LBA for now though. Corona has me out of work and low on funds.

Ah yes, I should have caught that crucial detail.

Here is an example of a "great deal" - of nonsense.

Whenever I am looking at getting another camera, my wife asks what I'm going to do with the one I already have. I tell her it will be a great backup to the new one. Consequently I have a backup-backup-backup-backup, as well as two "spares", and a "beater". (Camera, not wife!)
Love this response! My wife is the big photographer in the family and almost everytime she said "I really should send my camera in and have it serviced", I said "time to upgrade".

My current gear is a 2 body kit K1-MK2 and K5. But as I never discard my old bodies when I upgrade, I have a K7, K10, *istD, and my daughters K50 with aperture block failure but otherwise ok. If I go through all that, i can always pull out my PZ1, KX and Ricoh XR-2s

Lenses, got about 60

I don't know about the rest of you but I think I have it covered
