How to download images from K1II

Hello everybody, I always moved the memory card from my Pentax K1ii to a reader to download my photos into Mac Photo application.
How can I do that, or at least download the photos stored in the memory card, to an imac directly from my camera using a USB connection?

I have a K-3, not a K-1, but it shouldn't be any different

with the camera off, attach the cable to the Mac and the camera, and then turn the camera on...

the camera should appear as a drive, both on the desktop and in Finder...

from there, you should be able to offload the image files...

That is what I thought but nothing happens on the mac, it seems it does not recognize the camera.

Yep, you need to make sure it's not a charging only cable.
