Epson PhotoPC 600 - 25 Years Old!

DPReview announced Aug 4, 1997 - yep, four years before 9/11, eleven years before Lehman Brothers bankruptcy... and still works (with some minor problems). My first and oldest digital camera with a 1/3" CCD sensor.

SOOC jpegs just taken by the camera (don't try finding an EXIF info - it didn't exist back then).

thank you - I've never used an F-mount camera and discovered that I have several pre-AI lenses that will not work on this camera....
Oh yeah, gotta be real careful with them, no allowance for the metering tab, they'll ruin the cam, glad yours did!. Will be interesting to compare the mighty 645D to the S5, how is the shooting experience?

That is a really neat blast from the past, I dunno if mine is a CCD or not but I have an ancient HP photosmart cam of a similar vintage and I tried it recently and it still works too!.

the 645D sensor is just better all around than the S5; the shooting experience is pretty much a normal DSLR; similar to my K-5IIs or K-3, but also much better than the K10D I had a while back...

It’s wonderful, but apparently you can’t get good, colorful photos from her? I have no experience with such ancient cameras.

I have a still-working HP Photosmart C20 camera I bought in 1999. It has a 2/3" one megapixel CCD sensor.

A couple photos, both with some PP.

Minolta 7D & Quantaray 50mm F/2.8 Macro Tech 10, which apparently is a rebadged Sigma 50mm Macro lens sold by Ritz camera, I stumbled upon this lens at my local shop in Minneapolis for $40. Awesome budget find

Early digital photography, silent horror). It reminds me of the appearance of the first photo opportunities in phones. Minolta is good.

I wish for it too... the same pixel density of a K10D/K200D would give 24MP in a full frame camera. And the same pixel density on a 44x33cm gives the 40MP that the 645D has.

But 10MP is plenty to work with, I find. I'm stunned at the level of detail sometimes that I get with my K10D and K200D. They say 7-8MP (perhaps even 6?) is what the human eye can resolve when seeing an image as a whole (without pixel peeping).

I find that textures and color transitions are so much more detailed when looking at a CCD picture... perhaps it's as Photoptimist said, a Consummate Color Detector

K10D and DA 35 Limited:

But it's more than a color capturing device (CCD!)... it's also the ultimate tool for capturing black and white... at least for me!
Stunning photos, I love the black and white one of the boats. I had a K10D and a K20D once but sold them for a K3, I am tempted to get another K20D now!

Excellent results, just goes to show you don't need the latest and greatest to take some fantastic photos.
