Looking down over Hill Canyon last May. F35-70 on *ist D
On a different thread asking what the DA 70 was good for, I said landscapes, and some people were surprised that someone would take landscapes at 70mm... thanks for proving I'm not the only one (I know I'm not the only one but your picture reminded me of that conversation...)

On an unrelated note... if anyone wants to jump into (or back into) CCD waters, MPB here in the US is selling a K10D for 39 dollars for being "defective" - and the description says that the defect is that it back focuses with all lenses... just like mine did when I got it (I didn't get the discount though!) We here at pentaxforums know how to use the debug mode to adjust the autofocus, so that's a beautiful CCD sensor for the price of a meal at a restaurant nowadays...

and I'll further the notion of buying/selling to MPB - just concluded the sale of my Fuji X-H1 with them and all was smooooooooth....

How about 80mm? Taken with the short end of the F80-200 on K10D (maybe not exactly a "landscape"?)

A failed attempt at a pony photo with the K100D and Sigma 10-20mm. I couldn't find focus which is why I've ordered a split-prism screen to help. And because I was struggling to find focus I wasn't thinking about composition and timing, so the result is just chaos. But hey. . . it's a pony. . .

I promise I'll try to get something better when the focusing screen arrives.

Thanks CR! I've noticed that the old sensor sometimes "sees" things in the sky otherwise invisible to the naked eye. Certain cloud textures or the radiant effect in the sky seen in the surf photo. UV or gamma ray sensitivity perhaps?

It certainly captures what pleases the eye

I've been noticing something similar with the K100D since I started shooting with it again. I've got a growing suspicion that the 6MP sensor is sensitive to infra-red to some extent, as the warmer the weather the more obvious the effect is. Here's a completely unedited snap at Okehampton Castle on a very warm day last August that I think shows the effect. The castle walls had been absorbing heat all day and were warm to the touch (or at least not as cool as stone usually is). And the result is a reddish cast to the stonework, the path and the dry grass.

It's true that the Sigma 10-20mm used for this shot has got a warm rendering style of its own, so I don't know how much of it is down to that, but shots with the 18-55mm show a similar effect.

Living in Minnesota, winter photography can be tough sometimes, so I made it a goal today to capture barns and their scars and patina from years of neglect or straight abandonment.* All shot on the Olympus E-500 w/14-45/45-150 kit lens.* I personally got a kick out of the tin barn with the Built to Last, Not for Looks plywood sign.
