Rödlöga island, Sweden, photographed 2009/07.
K-m/K2000 (K10D CCD sensor) + DA-L 18-55mm
Developed from PEF RAW in Pentax Photo Lab (batch conversion with default settings, very similar to OOCJ).

I love how muted the colors are on the old CCD sensors.

Nice work, guys! Lovely CCD colours.

Here's a "Super CCD" shot (FujiFilm FinePix S602 Zoom).
Photographed in Scotland somewhere above Pitlochry, 2008/08.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50

I used this 10 MPix CCD "superzoom" camera only for a limited time and didn't like it much. While the Leica lens 12x zoom was quite impressive, the sensor performance (especially at the tele end) wasn't. Definitely not for suitable for bird photography.
Here's a few samples from this camera.

@tuco Interesting shot. Makes me almost dizzy. But it's at least something different.

I've been curious about those Super CCD cameras. Almost bought one a few weeks ago but it was one of those rather large bridge cameras so I ended up talking myself out of it.

At the wider side of things, the results are quite good!

That was my experience with the Lumix TZ1 superzoom. The 10x zoom was fun, but the fringing could get bad. Here's a couple from a Grand Canyon trip back in 2010:

The zoom was racked out a bit for this one:

It was an interesting technology, but the physical limitations of the old and small sensors were a stronger factor. Nice daisies.

Without a lamp though! But it nicely shows the bokeh of that Helios lens.
