Ah yes, I put my eyes on that picture and I knew it was a Kodak CCD... I was expecting it to be the E-1 because the colors are so nice and rich, but then I saw it's the E-400. I've been quietly on the look for one, for a while now, waiting for one to show up at a good price. They are hard to come by here, I don't think they were ever sold in the US. It's the last Kodak CCD 4/3 sensor, so I would not mind having a go at one...
The E-400 was not sold in the USA, you immediately went on sale 410. But even here, it is not so easy to find this camera at a reasonable price. I recently purchased a second one, it came with the lens I needed. I would give it away for a nominal fee, but I'm afraid the shipping will be too expensive. Come to visit my place)). The camera is afraid of overexposure, -0.3 is like a standard, It's better not to underexpose, and you will save colors and information. Very narrow dynamic range. If the light is perfect, or the weather is cloudy, then of course everything is different. Well, and a flimsy memory card cover, in general, an unsuccessful design. Breaks down. Once again about the CCD, the swarthy skin color of my children, especially the eldest, most naturally turns out on old cameras, without any "dancing with a tambourine". Thanks for the feedback.

Water and metals - anything with a reflective surface - is usually different (better in my eyes) with CCD sensors. This picture, I think, showcases it well

I think you mean that the skin color turns out well? I went to your flickr page and I have to agree. It is the same with the K200D and K10D, skin colors are naturally nice. I think it also has to do with the skin reflections - the look of light reflections, in my humble opinion, is much better with CCD technology. Skin colors were super nice with the K20D as well, even though that one is CMOS. I think it has to do with the ultra-thin color filter that the cameras have now, to improve high ISO performance and dynamic range - they don't give colors that are quite as nice. That is why when Canon was far behind in ISO performance and dynamic range, the colors were nicer. Now that they "caught up" I don't see the "Canon colors" that set that system apart. That of course is all subjective, it's the way I see it, other people's mileage may vary and all that

This is a machine translation, sorry. And yet you understood me correctly. My subjective opinion coincides with yours. I will also add, the video function ... There was a need to quickly read information from the photomatrix. I don't think it went in vain.

That's an interesting thought. I never heard about that thinner color filter. Do you have some reading on that?
