I can only identify but a few flowers so naturally I don't know what kind of flower this is. But the camera has a 16:9 mode I thought to try out.

I am constantly surprised by this little gem that the TX1 is, despite the super small sensor. The lens must be really good, I don't see this kind of clarity in the S90/S95 which has a sensor that is quite a bit larger.

Which reminds me I *still* haven't pulled the trigger on a pocketable CCD camera... the LX3/LX5 prices have gotten out of hand, I think. The Fujifilm F60FD is basically impossible to find these days... might just have to carry my DSLRs wherever I go (and I've also been trying to find a good deal on a K-m/K2000, which might be my best bet at having a smallish camera always with me...)

I still haul around and shoot 6x7, 6x9 and 6x17 format cameras. The 645D's body size was orginally for a 6x4.5 format camera that has much smaller and easy to carry around lenes by comparison. So yeah I hear that.

Yeah I am both surprised and impressed with the lens on this camera too.

Yeah closeups really show dust/dirt. I use a damp cloth and a can of air to clean things. And after that there is not much spot healing to do for the remaining dust and scratches. What really takes me a lot of time is just arranging the items and lighting. Many shots are just one light source with reflectors for fill to avoid different color temperature light sources.

Thanks.

It's the easy deep DOF you get from these comparatively short focal lengths that's a fun change of pace for me. It would be nice to have a lossless file format option. Editing an out of camera JPEG means a second time the image is compressed (even at 100% JPEG quality there is some compression to save the image again).
