I think what is going on here is a misinterpretation of the information contained in the released video. The newly designed VF is NOT a "full-frame" OVF in the new APS-C body, as far as I was reading it as they spoke in Japanese. The way it came across to me, the new VF is significantly improved in terms of brightness and clarity, as well as in magnification, and in these regards comparable to an excellent FF VF. It was NOT said to provide a FF FOV. Such a thing would be a mismatch, going beyond 100% coverage.
That said, my impression also is that the new camera will present improvements significant enough to close the quality gap between APS-C and FF even more. The mighty little KP has already done a fine job of that, and this may well make that gap very small indeed! I hope the new model will also follow the KP's example in its processor for turning out great images right out of the camera.
