750+ shots with Eneloops (didn't wait for the "Batteries depleted" message, could be even 800, don't know).
Those 750 shots include a lot of compositing, refocusing and playing with settings. Internal flash has been used only once.
Those Eneloops are after ~20 cycles in POWEREX MH-C9000 recharger.

Actually much better results than advertiesed in K100D manual!

Aside of problems with bad contacts which is a different issue, this goes as well for the ancient *ist-D.
Due to sheer sentiment I kept mine as being the first Pentax DSLR ever.
The amazing thing: It is still good! But I admit, I hardly use it.

I think the problem is with the contacts.
Some batteries work, and others wont.
