this comment has been made before

in response others suggested that the K 3 II, being produced later, had improvements that the K 3 did not and thus the K 3 II did not need a firmware update

I don't know for sure

Another hypothesis I have read on this subject is that available memory for firmware on the K3-II is too tight to include the latest bits, hence no K3-II firmware update in quite a while.

That is tremendous, given the age of the K3. I must go and have a look at what's new

The last two K3 updates have been for compatibility with the DFA* 50 and 85mm lenses, including lens-correction parameters.

Why the K3II does not get these is a mystery.

I think the K 3 II is already updated:

Major features subsequently added through firmware updates:

Version 1.10: Support for lenses with KAF4 mount, i.e. lenses that have foregone the mechanical stop-down lever; improved stability when shooting with the DA 55-300mm PLM WR RE zoom lens

How does a firmware update from 2016 contain lens correction parameters for lenses released in 2019 and 2020 ?

Do the lenses themselves contain the data? I'm guessing that not everything needs to come from a firmware update (i.e., only compatibility issues specific to that particular model), otherwise every camera would need an update for every new lens, which would cause a lot of overhead.

I'm only guessing, but I suspect Adam's right about the lens communicating correction data to the camera, with the K-3II already able to accept that data without further firmware changes...

I put my DFA 50 f1.4 on my K-3ii last night and took a number of unscientific test shots. The first test was to see if lens corrections was available in the menu and it was. I selected all of them. Everything worked fine with seeminly normal exposures, distortion, vignetting etc. By normal I mean there were no problems. So Adam's theory may be correct. Except why is the firmware needed for newer cameras? I rarely do such tests and will not mess with it again. My normal use of the camera has those corrections off. I use the lens on the K-1ii almost exclusively.
