Can anyone confirm if the Really Right Stuff L plate for the K1 fits the K1 II? I've searched the RRS website.but there is no mention of the mk II. Puzzled?

Using the camera compare feature the 2 are of the same dimensions .... so ... I guess yes.
Maybe RRS havent updated their web site yet ?

The only difference between the K1 and the K1mkII is the internal motherboard. Pentax had an exchange program where they would swap out the motherboard thereby upgrading the K1 to the K1mkII for $500. There are no external physical body differences.

In the past I had used Kirk L brackets and liked them a lot. With the K1, I compared images of the L brackets from both Kirk and RRS. I went with the RRS L bracket because it fit a bit snugger to the body. I've had it now for 4 years and no complaints.

I found myself needing an L bracket quickly, and so am waiting now for the 3-Legged Thing's latest universal bracket. I'll let everyone know how it works out.

Please do. I need to get one and the Really Right Stuff is top-notch it is very expensive.

I use a Kirk L-bracket for my K-1 - unfortunately they seem to have dicontinued the custom made one, but if you click through on the website (Pentax K-1) you come yo a 'universal' one for $60 US

I'm perfectly happy with the one I have build quality wise.

Note that it's not a perfect fit, and the side plate needs to have a bit of stand-off. But it works and I'm happy enough with it so far.
