In Shakespearian times you could say anything if you stated that you dreamed it: With this forum this also seems the safest option.

New APS-C K-Ltd (to match that line of lenses)

or the K-TBONTB (Talking about the Bard, this famous quote closely resembles the other candidates it is still a case of to be or not to be)

They could revive the *istD name to make it difficult to find online. "K-ist+&*" should confuse most search engines.

I have a feeling that it was named the 'K-2020'.
Think of the advertising "Pentax K-20/20: The Future is Clear"
Or something with acknowledging that a dSLR is somewhat being overlooked for the industry mirrorless mania with marketing like "dSLR - Hindsight is 20/20"

Then COVID hit and people are distancing from the year 2020 and Pentax needs to brainstorm not only a new camera name, but also a new marketing campaign - that's why it's taking so long to properly announce the name (?)

I wouldn't mind a "K-3 Mark III"

I'm still toying with:

K-3 III
K-1 III

and maybe
Q III (following from Q-S1 & Q7) and 645 III (following from 645D & 645Z)

(and that's why they released the K-1 II so quickly after the K-1 I, so that they could release Mark III's altogether)

I tend to agree.
I feel like the Q, and the digital 645 lines (and the K-01 [and probably the K-3 & K-1]) were Asahi/Hoya R&D concoctions that Ricoh finished out to recoup the brand name purchasing costs.
The FF (and dSLR APS-C) was a boon for sure, but the others fell off the radar once the in-progress R&D was rounded out and 'completed' (roundmaps stalled at "2017 or later").
