Another report of better AF on K-m/2000

Pentax Km Brief Review - PhotoMalaysia Community

I'm kind of wary of these kind of findings, as they are rather subjective, but it does sound promising.

Not that I'm having any real focusing issue with my K10D/K20D (once you go Center Focus and learn to focus on something contrasty, then recompose, it stops being a real problem. But for sport/moving kids and people who can't be bothered to learn this...).

All I know is when I picked one up in the store here, held it to my eye and half-pressed the shutter button I was actually literally physically startled by how fast it was. I was amazed at myself for not dropping the camera.

I'm still of the opinion that it would be a very fine camera to use as a dedicated M42 shooter.

Wow I'm so excited for getting one. I was even thinking of selling my K20D hahaha. But I'll keep it for photo work and the K-m for a bring-everywhere one.

Hmm k-m + my DA limiteds + magnifying eyecup = yum!

Agree with Mike Cash...I tried it in a shop and the focusing was impressive.
A lot of appeal for this camera.
Hope Pentax makes a big push in promoting this camera.

Very encouraging. I'd love to get a K2000D as a small travel camera (to replace my DS2) with which I'd use my DA Limited pancakes. Unfortunately, at least for the present, this little body is only available in the US as a kit - and an overpriced kit at that. That'll change, of course. For now, as I mentioned in another thread, I'll keep my powder dry and my cash in my pocket.

dsport- K2000 with 18-250 is what I'm thinking the end game will be for me. I am a current LX owner that has patiently waited for DSLRs to come to the level (price and capabilty) we are at now. Like many here, I have my eyes on the K2000 but as Sailor has noted the kit price relative to say the k200 is overpriced

K200d 2 lens kit via Costco - $750
K200d body only via Amazon - $500
K2000 1 lens w flash via Amazon - $700

So for $50 more I can get the K200. I am anticipating or rather speculating that this will get down to the K200 body price give or take $50 for the k2000 kit.
