Best lens pairings for new APS-C?

What kind of lens pairings would you guys choose to pair with the new flagship to best take advantage of its new AF abilities?

Just for the heck of it I'd put my 30 and 50 1.4 on and get in a low light situation to see how it will perform in a challenging situation.

Da*50-135, da15, da12-24, da16-85. Since the af is much improved, dfa150-450 and Dfa70-200 😊

There is only one lens currently, the 55-300 PLM.
There is one more lens announced, but not in production, the 16-50 PLM.

I'd add the DA 150-450, the DFA 70-200 or 70-210.

Most DA SDM Lenses are too slow to take advantage of the new system. They don't even keep up with the AF system in my K-3. There is a vast improvement using the DA 55-300 PLM with the K-3. It was an AF system waiting for a lens. I wouldn't use anything older than a DA 16-85, with the exception being the DA 18-135, which was the DC exception in an SDM world.

The DA 55-300 PLM even produces noticeable improvement with my wife's K-5. It make you wonder what took them so long to produce lenses that caught up with the AF system

I guess the HD DA 20-40mm Ltd would be excellent. I am not influenced by the video, just think it is a neat option for an APS-C that clearly shows the Ltd way of thinking. And maybe the DA* 11-18mm F2.8 looks attractive, except for its weight.
Agreeing with Normhead the DA 18-135, because that lens has so much more potential which came to light on newer flagships. And I certainly want to put the DA 35mm F2.4 on that camera. Each time that lens amazes me. Took it on a walk with me yesterday taking pictures of toadstools.

Hopefully the new DA*16-50mm PLM will be released at the same time (I'm thinking it will), and that would be the perfect pairing.

These. Plus whatever other fast focusing lenses come after. I'd also use the Limiteds when taking my time to shoot.

Regarding autofocus, I think the only lenses that would take full advantage of the AF capabilities of mkIII is the new DA*16-50 and the 55-300 PLM.

All those modern D-FA should do fine, but they are not as fast as those PLM driven lenses.

DC lenses should be also OK.

Screwdrive lenses will be what they already are with current cameras.

The answer is the same as for the current APS-C bodies. I know that is a cop-out, but it is the honest truth.

D FA* 50/1.4 and D FA*85/1.4.
They really should release a fast standard lens for the cropped format with the modern SDM tech.

I rather ask myself if the AF of the new K3mkIII is sufficient to boost my Sigma 35mm / 1.4 to a versatile standard prime. Then it will be really good. With my K-70 only the center point is always on the spot.

Same with the Sigma 18-35mm. Better AF could make this a really good lens.
