Actually... Can I just have one with all the dynamic range, zero noise, and fast fps? It's all I really need.

A Super A camera, but then in a digital version. Just a copy of that camera, but digital. No superfluous extra's like AF, rear LCD, numberless settings in camera or built in flash/wifi/bluetooth/. And certainly not video capabilities. I admit a rear LCD could be handy.

A Nikon D500, but with 5-axis IBIS & a 24MP sensor. I would have never stumbled onto Pentax had Nikon implemented IBIS into their DSLR cameras.

Will the K-3III be my ultimate camera? Who knows. Still waiting to see how well the AF performs.

Just curious, if you are after a camera like the D500, what lenses would you want to use on it that don't already have VR? Also the 24mp vs 20mp is pretty small difference.

My K-S2 is very, very close to my perfect camera: 20MP, flippy screen, gleaming white body, weather-resistant, horizon leveling, built-in IBIS, decent WiFi, great customization.

If Pentax ever made a K-S3, I would ask only for an optional battery grip (also in white!), the amber night vision mode that the KP has, the return of wireless flash control, and the option to put Depth-of-Field preview back on the power switch where it belongs.

Honestly, though, the K-S2 has me spoiled silly. While there will always be new lenses and filters to buy, I doubt I'll be tempted by a new DSLR until this one falls apart (long may it live!)

Now there is a feature I wouldn't mind since I do a lot of astro.

Actually instead of a dream camera can I dream of Portra 160 being a dollar, and develop and high res scan being another dollar? I would shoot film all day

I want a Pentax hiking camera. Either APS-C or FF, optical viewfinder, a top notch 16-150mm lens that accepts filters, camera, lens, and battery total weight less than 400 gm.

I'd love a K1 but it doesn't look like even the used ones will make it down towards my budget any time soon.

K-1 updated with modern connectivity/card slots and the D850 sensor. Maybe a faster burst rate and better video options?

...but if we want to get ridiculous, a 150mp digital 6x7 with all the bells, whistles and pentax special sauce. Ibis, pixel shift, astrotracer, everything. And a monochrome version of it as well.
